Buoy is an exploration of form, texture and light, inspired by objects shaped and transformed beneath the water’s surface.
Hand-sculpted in white stoneware, the irregular form is interrupted by openings surrounded by barnacle-like growths. Select areas of gloss glaze move across the textured surface, catching light against the quieter, raw character of the clay.
Light escapes through the openings—revealing the form rather than simply illuminating the space.
Each Buoy is individually sculpted and exists as an original work. No two will be the same.
Suspended alone, Buoy becomes a singular illuminated object. Hung in multiples, the individual forms come together as a larger sculptural installation.
